About this event

13% of people are sure that running destroys knees. Meanwhile, 1.3 million applications have been submitted for the London Marathon, and that’s a record. In Lisboa, everyone runs: from teenagers to grandmothers. They probably know something. And you would run too, but... Let’s talk about where motivation comes from and where it goes. How to start running and, most importantly, how not to quit. We will discuss how running changes who you are and who you are with. We will analyze running as a social, cultural, and psychological phenomenon. We will remember how it feels to run when everything is good, and how it feels to run when everything is falling apart. About running in joy and in sorrow. Yuri Strophilov has been a two-time world champion in the marathon in the 55+ and 60+ age groups. He left a top position in a large bank and ran his first marathon at the age of 50. Yuri founded a running platform, wrote the bestseller "Not About Running," and raised champions around the world. Anna Johansen worked as a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, conducts research, and launched several of her own businesses. She started running at the age of 42 and won silver at the World Marathon Championship in the 40+ group in 2026. We meet on October 10 at 18:00 at Liberty Santos. This is the first event in the LIBERTY RUNNING CLUB series. There will be many more meetings throughout the season. All the latest news about Liberty events on our tg channel.
