Pavel Pepperstein's project connects literature, futurology, and artistic imagination, returning to one of the most remarkable Russian texts about the future. The focus is on a look at tomorrow, where 19th-century science fiction resonates with digital reality. At the heart of the installation is the famous text "The Year 4338" by Vladimir Odoevsky, written in 1835. Reflecting on the distant future, the author remarkably accurately outlined the features of a world that today already seems recognizable: an accelerated pace of life, electronic forms of communication, search engines, machine-generated texts, and continuous switching of attention between streams of information. It is this ability of an old utopian narrative to speak to modernity that becomes the main nerve of the project. Pavel Pepperstein offers his own interpretation of this literary foresight. The installation is structured as a space where cabinet culture, intellectual history, and the image of the future converge into a cohesive visual scenario. Before the viewer stands not an illustration to an old work, but an independent artistic statement about how imagination works when it tries to look far ahead. An additional layer is added to the project by comics about Odoevsky's life and a rare musical instrument associated with his name. Thanks to these details, the exhibition reveals the figure of the author more broadly - as a thinker and a person of rare erudition, whose ideas continue to resonate accurately in the era of neural networks and digital communications.
