A comedy about lies for salvation turns everyday chaos into a fast-paced plot with family surprises, romantic intrigue, and absurd attempts to save the situation. Here, humor is born from recognizable weaknesses, and behind the lightness and humor lies a very human story about how hard it is to please others without losing oneself. At the heart of this story is a situation that sounds almost like a joke but quickly turns into a full-fledged theatrical comedy with precise rhythm, lively characters, and an escalating series of absurdities. The main character is a single father, Leonard, who already has enough worries: a teenage daughter with her own character, an elderly father whom no one wants to tolerate, and his own unfulfilled dream of literary success. When literary luck appears in his life, it turns out that it’s too early to rejoice: the recognition goes not to him but to an imaginary woman under whose name the novel was submitted. This is where the main pleasure for the viewer begins. The production spins the plot around a forced deception that becomes increasingly complex, funny, and uncomfortable for all participants. Such dramaturgy is good because it does not rely on a single effective twist but on a constant escalation of confusion. The characters have to improvise, wriggle out, come up with new versions of what is happening, and each subsequent decision only complicates the situation further. Because of this, the play maintains its pace and does not allow attention to wane. At the same time, the comedy works not only as entertainment. It has a very understandable theme - the desire to appear better than you are in order to earn love or recognition. Therefore, behind the jokes and absurdity, a very serious human nerve emerges. The characters here are far from ideal, but it is precisely this that evokes sympathy: they make mistakes, feel embarrassed, exaggerate, and ultimately turn out to be much more touching than they might have seemed at first.
