A psychedelic opera based on the prose of Yuri Mamliev. "Mamliev" is a series of living pictures created by director Arseny Meshcheryakov in collaboration with composer Nikita Lozovsky and artist Katya Erdeni. The audience is immersed in Mamliev's metaphysical realism, exploring feelings, their extreme manifestations, and how the characters search for themselves. Each character embodies a specific mask, speaks at a certain speed and in a certain manner, which brings the recitatives closer to operatic parts. The plots of Mamliev's stories balance between reality and a parallel world, united by horror and laughter. The author explores the loss of identity and the human desire to overcome one's own boundaries to attain something resembling happiness.
