Born in Victoria, B.C., Stel found a rapt cult fanbase with her 2024 debut EP <em>Object Permanence</em>, a fiercely vulnerable collection of genre-agnostic earworms fuelled by her full-bodied, affecting alto. Stel reached new heights with 2025&rsquo;s <em>How to Win At Solitaire</em>, written, produced and recorded in a makeshift basement studio beneath now-closed DIY venue Paradise, where she used to work. The deluxe edition spawned viral favourite <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-14HNoSrV4" target="_blank">&lsquo;I&rsquo;ll Take It&rsquo;</a>, earning co-signs from Troye Sivan and A.G.
