A masterclass dedicated to one of Nikolai Gogol's hobbies offers a new perspective on the writer's creativity. Participants will learn about Gogol's interest in botany and create a decorative piece by hand. Nikolai Gogol's interests extended far beyond literary creativity. For example, he was fascinated by botany and collected herbariums. Participants will learn about the period in Gogol's life on Nikitsky Boulevard, in the house of Count Alexander Tolstoy and his wife. The host will talk about the writer's habits, his hobbies, and preserved materials related to the study of plants. Special attention will be given to the history of the herbarium that Gogol collected with his sister Olga in the vicinity of his native Vasilievka. During the practical part of the masterclass, participants will create a decorative miniature using ribbons, beads, and fabric. The program is designed for adults and children from 6 years old. Where to go in Moscow on weekends will be suggested by our website.
