Moving between romantic ideals and contemporary cultures of self-improvement, social media and self-optimization, it asks how our ideas of love, happiness and a meaningful life are constructed - and how much of what we want is ever truly of our own making. Conceived as a fully immersive experience, spatialized video installations and a new media work extend throughout the entire space, forming an environment through which the audience moves and in which choreography, image and architecture unfold together. The Performances Ballet Sur_real, is the official ballet ensemble of DANCÆ, fuses classical ballet with electronic music, integrating immersive installations and innovative technologies into its choreographic language. The creations draw on contemporary life while delving into the deeper psychological motives that drive human behavior.
