ConcertsThe group "NOM" KINGS OF AVANT-GARDE DRAMATIC-IDIOTIC SHOW. A legend, the kings of avant-garde rock NOM will present their dramatic-idiotic show - a signature combination of music, theater, absurdity, and satire. The program includes all the hits and new songs. NOM is an acronym for "Informal Youth Association." This term was widely used by the official Soviet press in the early 90s to refer to groups of young people who opposed the "Komsomol." The group NOM was formed in Saint Petersburg by students and former classmates. The name was chosen as an alternative to the "serious" rock movement that gained strength during the perestroika years. An ironic and mocking approach became the foundation of NOM's creativity. "Idiotization of the dramatic sides of life and dramatization of the idiotic aspects" - a manifesto with which the group appeared on the Leningrad rock scene in 1989. The musicians avoided strict definitions of style, freely transitioning from garage rock to German electronic minimalism or comic opera. In NOM's lyrics, the traditions of absurdist poetry continue - from Kozma Prutkov to OBERIU (Kharms, Vvedensky, and others). Critic Artemy Troitsky called NOM "the last bastion of ruthless satire" - and today these words sound particularly relevant.
