GILES COREY BORN TO BE ALONE TOUR 2027 January 30, 2027 -- Bike Jesus, Prague On January 30, 2027, Giles Corey---the folk-inspired solo project of Dan Barrett, also known as the co-founder of the band Have a Nice Life---will perform at Bike Jesus in Prague. As part of the Born To Be Alone Tour 2027, Barrett will embark on his first-ever solo tour with this project. Intimate singer-songwriting, raw acoustic instruments, and restless electronics will range throughout the evening from almost whispered passages to intense walls of sound. The set will also feature brand-new material that Barrett will perform live for the very first time. However, this limitation opened the door to something much greater---guitars, piano, ethereal choirs, powerful organs, field recordings, and sudden walls of sound that envelop the intimate singer-songwriter core. The songs explore themes of depression, death, history, and paranormal phenomena, without treating any of them with detachment. Quiet despair gives way to cathartic outbursts, and personal confession transforms into a shared sense of release. Since its release, the album---along with its accompanying book---has garnered a devoted fan base, who often describe the experience as ritualistic or nearly religious. These are Giles Corey's first concerts since a few performances in 2023 and, at the same time, the very first that Barrett will perform entirely on his own: his raw voice and acoustic instruments will be complemented by unpredictable electronics and arrangements designed to transition from a whisper to an almost physical sonic impact. The set will also include brand-new material, which will be performed live for the very first time.
