On the Petrograd side, there are many places associated with Viktor Tsoi and the Leningrad rock culture of the 1980s. The walk will help you see familiar streets through the eyes of representatives of the then musical underground and learn how one of the country's main cultural scenes was formed. The route is based on years of research by local historian, blogger, and collector Alexander Gornostayev on the history of the band "Kino" and the Leningrad Rock Club. Participants will learn where Tsoi worked besides the famous boiler house, in which apartments home concerts took place, why Sergey Solovyov invited the musician to star in "Assa," and which city cafes were important gathering points for the rock community of that time. The discussion will not only be about Tsoi himself but also about his friends, musicians from his circle, and the urban atmosphere of the perestroika era. The tour will conclude at a bar with live music. Participants will be provided with radio guides with individual headphones. Meeting point - in the courtyard of the "Kamchatka" boiler house (Blokhina St., 15). Registration can be done on the website of the Lev Lurie Culture House. What to see in St. Petersburg will be suggested by KUDAGO.
