The Twelfth Annual BRIC JazzFest presents a lineup that moves across eras and disciplines, from established voices to the artists shaping where the genre goes next. New York has spent the summer in its streets, from block parties to watch parties, joyfully coming together in public spaces. BRIC is channeling that into BRIC JazzFest as part of its “Radical Joy” season theme: two nights for the community, honoring jazz’s roots and the artists carrying it forward. This year’s BRIC JazzFest aims to expand the circle of what we consider jazz music, and to gather those who have yet to find their home within this tent. Our lineup aims to convey jazz as a music of collective movement. This is jazz to dance to and conjure with.
