Five-time Grammy-winning collective Snarky Puppy will take the stage at Volkswagen Arena on September 18! As bandleader and bassist Michael League explains, Snarky Puppy has always been “a band that prioritizes the sound of the music.” Drawing from funk, rhythm & blues, hard rock, classic soul, modern gospel, fusion, and jazz, the group defies easy categorization. Perhaps the best advice comes from New York Times critic Nate Chinen: “Take them for what they are, rather than judge them for what they’re not.” Over the years, the band’s soundscape has expanded dramatically-evolving from a jazz-oriented foundation into something groovier, more emotional, and deeply communicative without ever compromising musical sophistication. In January 2025, Snarky Puppy reunited with the Netherlands-based hybrid ensemble Metropole Orkest for an ambitious live project recorded over three nights in Utrecht. Released in November 2025 as Somni, the collaboration marked a decade after their Grammy-winning orchestral suite Sylva. Described as their most ambitious project to date, this era reflects the band’s constant evolution.
