Teenagers will learn how items from ordinary apartments helped envision the future and why standard forms still evoke interest. Objects from the past often seem too familiar to look at closely. A stool in the kitchen, a minimalist lamp, a sideboard with dishes, a radio, or a household appliance may appear mundane, but behind each such item lies an idea of what home, work, leisure, and everyday life should be like for a person. In the workshop, teenagers will analyze Soviet design - it will be about a time when the design of the environment was perceived as part of a large social project. Standard furniture, appliances, and interiors were meant to be comfortable, accessible, and understandable, while also visually supporting the vision of the future that the era promised.
