The artist carefully examines the lines of streets and squares, capturing the fragile balance between the silence of empty spaces and the rhythm of urban life, transforming familiar silhouettes into a shimmering golden glow. The cities we live in or pass through often merge in memory into a series of addresses and tasks. In Natalia Shushpanova's project, attention returns to what usually remains on the periphery of vision: the rhythm of roofs, the lines of avenues, the play of light on the plaster of old houses. The artist views the city as a living organism that holds traces of human stories in every window opening and arch. Each canvas is built around a state - quiet anticipation, gentle movement, a barely perceptible turning point of the day. Somewhere deep in the frame, the figures of passersby can be discerned, in another landscape the street suddenly appears almost empty, and then the curves of the embankment, the outlines of balconies, and the silhouettes of trees behind stone fences become particularly noticeable.
