The exhibition addresses the end of human life as a moment when the past suddenly becomes particularly clear and whole. The focus of Vladimir Shinkaryov is on historical figures from different eras. The artist is also interested in the history of places and cultural phenomena. At the core of the project is the series "Mitka" by Vladimir Shinkaryov, dedicated to the last year of existence of a person, place, or cultural phenomenon. It is at this point, according to the artist's thought, that it becomes possible to summarize - a moment when what has been lived acquires a completed form and can be understood as a fulfilled destiny - regardless of whether it is a living being, an inanimate object, or an intangible phenomenon. The cycle features historical characters, writers, musicians, and other figures who have become symbols of their era. Among them are those whose fates ended tragically, yet it is this sharpness of the finale that allows one to see their path as extremely coherent and significant. This theme also develops in the landscapes of St. Petersburg, connected to the author's biography. The artist turns to places that have been part of his life for many years and captures them at the moment of losing their former appearance.
