The exhibition introduces the legacy of the outstanding Leningrad architect and artist Evgeny Poltoratsky, whose ideas shaped the city's appearance in the second half of the 20th century. Attention is given to both his well-known projects and graphic works that reveal the artistic worldview of the master. Evgeny Poltoratsky's legacy spans several decades and combines key directions of Soviet architecture-from restrained international style to expressive postmodernism. The master's works are characterized by a desire for individuality and harmony with the urban environment, particularly noticeable in the residential quarters of the southwest of the Northern capital, where he created unique projects, preserving the natural landscape and using color as a compositional element. A special place is occupied by the monument project in Kakhovka, which earned the author the State Prize of the USSR, as well as iconic buildings on Lenin and Veterans Avenues, in Kronstadt, and in the northern part of the city. In each of them, attention to detail and the desire to transform typical construction into a vibrant architectural space can be felt. Poltoratsky's graphics complement the architectural side of his creativity. In drawings created after numerous trips, the master captured the dynamics of cities, the aesthetics of construction sites, and the unique poetics of modern urbanism.
