The exhibition of women's portraits spans three centuries of domestic art. The display shows how artistic forms and the very perception of women have changed over different historical periods. The exhibition brings together more than 100 female portraits created from the 18th to the 21st century. The display includes ceremonial, intimate, psychological, and everyday images that allow us to trace the development of the portrait genre in Russia and the changing public view of the role of women. The project compares works from different eras and artistic movements. Several sections are dedicated to ceremonial portraits of the 18th and 19th centuries, where the social status of the model is emphasized through costume, pose, and attributes. The intimate portrait reveals the inner world of the heroine beyond class boundaries - here, the focus is on the face and emotional state. A significant place is occupied by graphics and watercolor, which replaced photography. Works from the 20th century show the transformation of the female image in new historical conditions, while maintaining interest in the theme of femininity. In total, the portraits create a visual chronicle of several centuries and allow us to see how ideals, morals, and cultural landmarks of society were reflected through specific faces.
