A retrospective of Elena Kuznetsova - 65 animalistic sculptures made of ceramics, plaster, wood, and bronze, collected into one personal narrative about nature. From the early works of a student at the House of Pioneers to urban projects and philosophical figures like "The Cat on the Column" - here you can see how material becomes alive and characteristic. In this exhibition, sculpture speaks to living nature in the language of gestures and textures. The halls feature 65 works by Elena Sergeyevna Kuznetsova - an animalist master and educator, whose works are rarely seen together in such volume. The retrospective is structured like a biography: step by step, you can see how her style developed - precise, observant, and at the same time poetic. The beginning - early plaster and ceramic pieces from the studio of the Moscow City House of Pioneers, where the young author worked under the guidance of Alexander Vasilievich Popov. Next - years of study at the Stroganov School and a meeting with the monumental-decorative school: large forms appear, interest in ceramics, chamotte, majolica, faience, and how the surface "holds" movement. A separate line - work at the Bureau of Technical Aesthetics and experience in collective projects. Here, the history of urban orders is also revealed: sketches and photographs of the design of sites, parks, facade decorations, as well as the coat of arms of the RSFSR for the building of the Council of Ministers in Moscow.
