In the exhibition, the flower becomes a sign of the era, the female image, decorative beauty, and artistic explorations. The exhibition addresses a theme that seems familiar, but in the art of the turn of the 19th-20th centuries, it acquires many shades. The flower becomes the hero of still life and landscape, a detail of everyday life, a symbol of fragility, a rhyme to the image of a woman, and an opportunity for experimentation with color. About 150 works show how artistic optics changed: from soft light vibrations to the lines of modernism and the rich polysemy of symbolism. Painting in the exhibition coexists with decorative applied arts and sculpture. Special interest is represented by the polyptychs of Irina Starzhenetskaya, revealing the theme of flowers in 21st-century art. Unusual exhibitions in Moscow can be found on KUDAGO.
