The project addresses the ideas of cultural heritage preservation as the spiritual foundation of humanity. Through art, it reveals the meaning of human responsibility for the preservation of the sacred values of the past. The exhibition is timed to the 90th anniversary of the signing of the first international agreement aimed at protecting artistic and scientific institutions and historical monuments, known in history as the Roerich Pact. The focus is on the artistic interpretation of ideas formulated by Nicholas Roerich long before the emergence of modern legal norms in the field of cultural preservation. The artist drew inspiration from ancient architectural monuments, archetypal images of the East and West, as well as figures of saints and ascetics embodying spiritual service and cultural creation. The exhibition features works by Roerich himself and images he referred to in Russian, Western European, and Eastern art. All are united by the theme of an unseen higher presence accompanying a person on the path of inner growth. Find other exhibitions in St. Petersburg on KUDAGO.
