The archive of Soviet photographer Marat Islamgulov transforms into a living narrative about memory, family, and time. The photographs, salvaged from surviving films, coexist with diary entries and gain a new resonance thanks to the work of Diana Khuzina. At the heart of the project are photographs from the late 1940s to the early 1960s, which long remained part of a family history. They were found decades later in an old mansion in Ufa, shortly before the partial demolition of the building. The fragile films could have disappeared but preserved faces, streets, rooms, trips, and everyday episodes that make up the rich chronicle of the post-war years. In Marat Islamgulov's photographs, there is no museum distance. Moscow, Leninabad, landscapes, interiors, portraits, and scenes of everyday life are shown through a careful private gaze. The camera captures gestures, random turns of the head, the lively movement of people. The diary entries of Lina Garifullina add a voice to these frames: a personal intonation appears next to the image. Diana Khuzina works with her grandfather's legacy as an artist and researcher. She manually scans the films, restoring clarity to the details, removing traces of damage without erasing the age of the photographs.
