About

The exhibition reveals the graphic direction in the practice of Vladimir Dubosarsky and showcases his work with print techniques. The project focuses on the materiality of the image and the role of chance in the creative process. The exhibition is dedicated to the print graphics of Vladimir Dubosarsky. The focus is on silk screen printing and etching, which allow for a different aspect of his artistic method, where the nuances of stroke and the balance between precise calculation and unpredictability of the result are important. The key exhibit is a sheet from the series "Light Under Water": an image of a chandelier referencing Soviet interior design, placed in the emptiness of a white field. Originally, this was a technical print for color checking, but here it becomes an independent work. Traces of unset paint and controlled interventions by Dubosarsky create tension between the random effect and ornamental structure. In contrast to this work are the etchings from the 1990s. In them, the artist focuses on building space and the character of the line, demonstrating an analytical approach to the image that is rarely associated with his painting practice. The venue for the exhibition is the "PiranesiLAB" gallery at Winzavod.
