About

More than 140 paintings and graphic works from Nukus and New Jerusalem will tell about the Russian avant-garde of the 1920s and 1930s and the artists' attempts to express the spirit of the time in new forms and ideas. The Russian avant-garde of the early 20th century speaks the language of experimentation and internal tension, seeking a new image of man and forms of expression of the world. This search is dedicated to the exhibition, which unites the collections of two museums - from Nukus and the Moscow region. In the halls of the Assembly Rooms, works from the collections of the State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan named after Savitsky and the "New Jerusalem" museum are presented. For the first time, works by more than 140 artists who worked in the 1920s and 1930s - a period full of contradictions, hopes, and utopias - are gathered in one space. Here you can see the paintings and graphics of Solomon Nikritin, Kliment Redko, Alexander Shevchenko, Vasily Chekrygin, Mikhail Sokolov, Robert Falk, and other masters. Entertainment in Kazan is collected on our website.
