The project is timed to the 250th anniversary of the birth of Carlo Rossi and is dedicated to the history of the creation and artistic analysis of the paintings in the ceremonial rooms where the most important state issues were decided. The focus is on narrative and ornamental painting of the interiors, where strict architecture was combined with symbols, allegories, and a thoughtful color system. The exhibition features about seventy items: watercolors and engravings, rare editions, archival photographs, as well as original examples of monumental painting. Many materials are presented for the first time and allow a glimpse into the "working kitchen" of the classical era - from concept to realization. Of particular interest are fragments of the paintings in the eastern wing of the General Staff with the original color scheme of the 1820s, providing insight into the original appearance of the interiors. The exhibition shows Rossi not only as the creator of outstanding architectural ensembles but also as a subtle director of space, where painting played a key role.
