Minerals and artistic glass meet in an exhibition where natural texture becomes the language of art. Stone reveals color and form, glass responds with shine and the ability to transform. At the center of attention is the comparison of minerals and decorative art pieces. Stones reveal the richness of shades and natural structures: here you can see jasper, ophicalcite, slate, siderite, magnesite, diabase, and melted periclase. The samples are perceived as a kind of primordial basis of form and color, which artists turn to in search of expressive solutions. Nearby, glass works from the collection of the Russian Museum are presented. This material is valued for its transparency, shine, and resonance, but especially for its ability to change depending on composition and processing. Thanks to various technologies, masters achieve complex color effects and create surfaces reminiscent of natural textures. The exhibition features works from the 19th to the early 20th century, as well as pieces by Vladimir Murakhver, Galina Antonova, Leyda Jurgen, Andrey Krivolapov, and others.
