The traditions of wedding dowry in the Ottoman Empire are unveiled through items that combine craftsmanship, symbolism, and family representations of the future. The exhibition allows us to see how the preparation for marriage transformed into an important cultural ritual. In the halls, there are over 80 exhibits from Turkish collections reflecting life in the second half of the 19th century. Here, elements of festive attire are presented - dresses, blouses, belts, headpieces, as well as household items that accompanied the bride into a new stage of her life. Silk fabrics, embroidery with metallic threads, and intricate decor make the outfits not just clothing, but carriers of meaning. Through such items, families expressed prosperity, taste, and hopes related to the bride's future. The exhibition helps to understand how the wedding ceremony was constructed.
