The exhibition brings together artists for whom the painterly gesture has become a way to express personal preferences and inner confidence in their chosen canvases. The project showcases works that the authors consider to be the most accurate expression of their own viewpoint. The focus is on the works of five masters who formed a group known for their stable interest in the painting tradition. Their approach developed during a time when the relevance of easel painting was being discussed, and new technologies seemed more significant. Despite this situation, the artists defended the value of the canvas as a space where content is born from the interaction of color, gesture, and form. Their statements convey the idea that painterliness is defined not by the material but by the feeling that cannot be conveyed in other ways. Each participant in the project selects works for which they are accountable to themselves, without orientation towards fashion, public expectations, or the tastes of the professional community. These works demonstrate the differences in schools, traditions, and artistic temperaments. At the same time, they are united by their commitment to painting as an independent language, where honesty, attention to inner rhythm, and the desire for precise expression of experiences are important.
