The exhibition presents outstanding monuments of Islamic art from the collection of the Museum of the East. Attention is paid to masterpieces from Iran, Turkey, India, and the Arab world, as well as the heritage of Russian Muslims - from the Golden Horde to Dagestan. The exhibition includes about a hundred works: manuscripts, ceramics, textiles, metal, stone, and wood products that reflect the cultural diversity of the Islamic world - from China to the Volga. Special emphasis is placed on the arts of the Muslim regions of Russia, allowing for an examination of their contribution to the universal Islamic tradition. The exhibits cover a wide time range - from the first coins and ancient copies of the Quran to 20th-century calligraphy. Some of them are presented to the public for the first time: for example, a drawing of a facade recently attributed to a Bukhara student of the architect Fazil-jan. The curators invite viewers to see Islamic art as an embodiment of revelation - a spiritual source of artistic creativity. Detailed descriptions and translations of inscriptions reveal the cultural and religious context to the viewer, emphasizing how Islamic aesthetics intertwine with the ethnic traditions of different peoples.
