The exhibition shows how the everyday world of the Soviet family was built. Through objects, photographs, and posters, the image of a country emerges where the conversation about the future began with a conversation about home. At the center of the exhibition is a story about family life and child-rearing in Soviet times. The exhibits are arranged in familiar narratives: mornings before school, holidays with relatives, trips to grandmother's house, and activities that unite several generations. Here, documents, photographs, works of painting and graphics, posters, and everyday items coexist. The exhibition illustrates how the perception of family changed in the 20th century. The patriarchal model gradually gave way to new social roles, with the emergence of nurseries, kindergartens, clubs, and pioneer palaces, a system of vacations, and support for motherhood. Through official documents and everyday items, it becomes evident how state policy entered private spaces and influenced habits and family rituals.
