The project traces how sports themes have been reflected in decorative and applied arts across different eras. The exhibition shows the connection between artistic forms and the ideals of society and major sporting events. The exhibition addresses the theme of sports as a significant phenomenon for domestic decorative and applied arts of the 20th and early 21st centuries. It includes original works by artists and series products from ceramic and glass manufactories, in which sports images reflect the spirit of the times, its values, and ideals. The dynamics of movement and the plasticity of figures become the basis for an expressive artistic language. The structure is organized into thematic sections dedicated to physical culture, summer and winter sports, as well as the 1980 Olympic Games. Since the 1920s, sports have acquired an important educational and ideological function, leading to an active engagement of artists with physical culture motifs. A new surge of interest coincided with the Olympic period when enterprises massively created souvenirs, tableware, and decorative objects with corresponding symbolism.
