The project immerses the audience in the atmosphere of the late 1920s - a time when Mikhail Bulgakov was searching for the form and language for his future novel "Master and Margarita". The first sketches and drafts reveal the path from a satirical idea to a philosophical parable about good and evil. Visitors will be able to trace how disparate plot lines gradually grew into a cohesive structure of the work, and familiar characters emerged in the text. The exhibition includes rare documents, typewritten pages with author corrections, letters, and photographs that return the viewer to the house where the first lines of the future novel were written.
