The Darwin Museum has opened an exhibition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Tatiana Kapustina's birth - one of the most touching and talented animal artists in Russia. Her works are familiar to millions of children and adults: throughout her life, she illustrated over 120 books, with a total circulation exceeding 20 million copies. The "Stories about Animals" exhibition has gathered more than 60 works from the museum's collections and private collections. Many of them have never been exhibited before. These are vibrant colored autolithographs, elegant graphic sheets, and illustrations for the classics of Russian literature. Central to the exhibition are images of animals, especially horses and dogs - those that the artist loved to depict the most. A special section is dedicated to her famous book illustrations. Viewers will be able to see original drawings for the works of Leo Tolstoy, Mikhail Prishvin, Anton Chekhov, and Vitaly Bianki. A separate block of the exhibition tells about Tatiana Kapustina's travels, including an expedition to Antarctica on the legendary steamer "Lyubov Orlova."
