Modern author porcelain in this exhibition lives by its own rules: both form and pattern are important, as well as how the objects communicate with each other. The viewer enters a space where the classical school unexpectedly coexists with experimentation. In one hall, works by five masters are shown, for whom porcelain is a territory of experimentation. Each author builds their own world: some rely on the legacy of the avant-garde, some turn to cosmic associations, and some transform a vase into an independent art object. Some works are already visible from the street - the showcases allow viewing the items even before entering the museum. Galina Dulkin's strict silhouettes and concise volumes remind one of the plasticity of Constantin Brancusi and Alexander Archipenko. Mikhail Sorokin creates sets and objects in which familiar teapots and cups turn into a narrative about time and the presence of a person in a changing world. Nina Troitskaya focuses on painting: her vases and dishes are populated by characters to which it is easy to invent bright stories. Daniil Filippenko shows series where classical forms collide with motifs of urban culture. Galina Shulyak, who has been associated with large-scale production for many years, appears here as an author of intimate pieces with the intonation of personal expression.
