The exhibition addresses the portrait as a way to see the hidden - not the appearance, but the inner world of the author. The works of various artists are united by an interest in what remains beyond the obvious and manifests only in the artistic image. The exhibition brings together artists of different generations and artistic movements, connected by their attention to the non-obvious side of visual art. Their works are built around the idea that an image is never completely transparent: behind the visible form lie additional meanings. At the center of the project is the theme of the portrait - as a special artistic sign, in which both the model and the author are present. The face is perceived here not as a fixation of appearance, but as a mask or symbol. Sometimes the characters appear detached from reality, as if existing in their own space. This happens because the artist inevitably transfers part of their own experience into the image. Each image retains an imprint of the internal state, memories, and personal perspective.
