The graphic exhibition addresses the myths and legends of different peoples through etching and linocut. Line, stroke, and spot become a way to tell about ancient plots, personal worlds of artists, and the living connection of cultures. The exposition is dedicated to graphics as an art form where the image is born from the precise movement of the hand, patience, and numerous trials. The focus is on prints made in the classical techniques of etching and linocut. Behind each sheet lies a complex process: searching for composition, working with material, printing, and paying attention to the smallest nuances of texture and tone. The authors turn to mythological plots of different peoples and show how ancient stories continue to speak to the modern viewer. Through legends, ideas about nature, the structure of the world, human fate, and forces that cannot be explained rationally are revealed. The graphic language helps to maintain this multilayeredness: a line can be disturbing, a spot dense and dramatic, and a stroke almost narrative. The project features artists from the Creative Association "Etching." Each retains their own style, but they are all united by an interest in exploring graphics and its expressive possibilities.
