The project is dedicated to the artistic view of the Moscow metro - a space through which the lives of millions of people pass daily. In painting and graphics, the subway transforms into a place of meetings, memories, and hidden stories. The exhibition project continues the joint program of the Union of "Exhibition Halls of Moscow", the Moscow Metro, and the Department of Transport and Development of Transport Infrastructure. This is the third season that artists have been working with the theme of the metro, exploring it as an important part of the capital's everyday life and an independent cultural image. For some, the subway is the strict architecture of the stations, for others - the rhythm of endless movement, and for others - a place of brief encounters, waiting, and farewells. It is from these different observations that a multifaceted representation of the metro as a living organism is formed. On the canvases, one can see both the monumentality of the underground halls and barely noticeable scenes occurring among the flow of passengers. In the graphics, the focus is on the movement of people, silhouettes, details of the stations, gestures, and glances that usually go unnoticed. Ideas on where to go in Moscow are gathered on our website.
