Artists Irina Ivannikova-Davydova and Vasily Kononov-Gredin engage in a dialogue about how the city and home are not just backgrounds to people's lives, but reflect their tastes and relationships. How do we perceive the space we live in? This is what two young artists reflect on in their works, each in their own way. Irina Ivannikova-Davydova explores the home interior as a reflection of collective desires and notions of beauty, while Vasily Kononov-Gredin addresses urban space, where time and advertising leave their marks. Irina Ivannikova-Davydova worked in a real estate agency and collected her own archive of interiors, providing insight into beauty in the mass unconscious. For several years, the artist has been developing the project "Packaging," exploring the space of typical apartments. In her works, created in various techniques and based on simple everyday objects, the personal and public intertwine. Vasily Kononov-Gredin presented a work at the exhibition that continues his project "Structures." In it, the artist views the urban environment as a living, constantly changing organism characterized by certain rhythms, recurring patterns, and their sudden breaks. For him, architecture, advertising signs, and fences are important elements where the idealized city meets the real one. In creating his works, the artist uses photography: he takes pictures of the city with his smartphone, processes them, and then photographs the resulting images again, this time on film. Thanks to this multi-stage technique, the urban space in the photographs acquires a unique texture. The exhibition is organized by the Moscow Museum of Modern Art and the Artistic Production Center "Arches" of the GES-2 House of Culture. Irina Ivannikova-Davydova.
