The project explores "dark" sensitivity as a way to speak about anxiety, crisis, and the fragility of modern experience. Gothic here becomes not a style, but a tool for a critical view of the present. The group project addresses the phenomenon of Gothic as an optic through which Russian art of the 2020s is interpreted - a time increasingly described as an era of fatigue, fractures, and the loss of stable orientations. The focus is on the state of uncertainty and tension that permeates the visual culture of recent years. The exhibition features works by 18 authors - students, graduates, and teachers, as well as invited artists, who consistently work with dark imagery. Their practices are united by an interest in affect, corporeality, the vulnerable subject, and the liminal states arising between personal and collective experience. The concept of "new Gothic," which emerged in the Western curatorial environment at the turn of the century, is reinterpreted here in a local context. Its roots lie in Gothic literature, Romanticism, Victorian culture, medievalism, science fiction, and subcultures, yet today this language acquires new meanings, responding to the challenges of the present.
