The exhibition tells about the master who managed to turn furniture production into a high art and earn the trust of the imperial court. The focus is on the path of the manufacturer, his famous works, and the world of grand interiors of the late 19th century. The exhibition addresses the figure of the outstanding St. Petersburg cabinetmaker Nikolai Fyodorovich Svirsky. Starting with a small workshop, he gradually built a large enterprise where high quality, fine finishing, and careful attention to every detail were valued. His works were loved at court, and the master himself enjoyed special respect from Alexander III. At the center of attention is the furniture created at Svirsky's factory. The items allow us to see how craftsmanship, artistic taste, and the notion of comfort worthy of imperial interiors come together. The exhibition is complemented by historical photographs of palace rooms and the imperial train, as well as drawings by Nikolai Nabokov made for the factory.
