The interactive installation transforms a personal family story into a conversation about hope, reproductive technologies, and the attempt to envision someone who currently exists only in imagination. The project connects biographical experience, science, and a digital model of a future child. At the core of the work by Elena Demi-dova and Maxim Kalmykov is a real family story, for which the path to having a child was linked to a difficult experience, medical limitations, and the anticipation of a technological breakthrough. The artists address the theme of heredity not as an abstract concept, but as a very personal question, where hope for the future exists alongside the impossibility of acting right now. The central image of the project is a neural network child - a boy assembled from childhood photographs of family members and endowed through algorithms with presumed traits of appearance and character. The authors attempt to present him as a living presence with which one can already engage. Thus, the artificial image transforms into a form of expectation, where digital technology takes on the role of mediator between dreams, family memory, and medical reality. The installation space is arranged like a room prepared for a baby: with toys, gifts, books, and traces of care that cannot yet be realized in ordinary family life.
