The exhibition offers a view of Russia as a vast space of cultural coexistence, where dozens of peoples with their languages, rituals, songs, and notions of beauty have lived side by side for centuries. One of the key visual sources is the work of Emelyan Korneyev, created during his travels across the country in the early 19th century. His paintings reveal the scale of national diversity-from the European part of the empire to the Caucasus, Volga, Siberia, and the far eastern territories.
