About

This exhibition gathers the poet in numerous reflections - from the first book covers to the items that accompanied him in life. On the shelves and in the displays, a human biography unfolds, inscribed in the history of the country and culture of the second half of the 20th century. The book exhibition is based on materials from the museum-gallery's collection. In one space, the first poetry collections meet later books with poems and prose, editions from different years with articles about the poet. Nearby are items that were part of his everyday life - they add personal intonations and character details to the printed pages. Evgeny Yevtushenko entered history as one of the most prominent voices of the sixties generation. His texts responded to changes in public life, argued with the times, and simultaneously captured the atmosphere of the era. Poet, prose writer, journalist, director, and screenwriter - each of these directions reveals different sides of one author and shows how wide a range of topics concerned him. The exhibition builds a living portrait of a person whose name was known both in poetic squares and in reading halls. The books and personal items here work as fragments of a larger narrative: through them, it becomes clearer how the creative biography intersects with the history of the country, while loud public roles coexist with private life. Where to go in Moscow, KudaGo knows.
