Canals, bridges, parks, and white nights turn into a picturesque diary of personal attachment. Vadim Ivashchenko moved to St. Petersburg in 2015, and his acquaintance with the city began with walks. From his observations grew a series of works where the city does not look like a postcard. The artist is interested in St. Petersburg as a place that initially surprises, then becomes part of everyday life, yet still retains its power. The exhibition features finished compositions and sketches. Oil gives depth and weight to the landscapes, pastel helps convey the softness of light, and gouache adds coherence.
