At the library "Na Stremyannoy", artist Olesya Fedorenko showcases her St. Petersburg - oil pastels, bright spots of light, and soft lines of streets where everyday routes and personal stories intertwine. On the sheets, courtyards, intersections, and embankments come to life, which many will recognize from their own walks, even if they haven't looked at them so attentively before. In the space of the library "Na Stremyannoy", a city seen through Olesya Fedorenko's eyes comes together. The artist has been consistently working on the theme of everyday St. Petersburg for several years, focusing not on grand panoramas but on the routes she walks every day. Familiar neighborhoods appear on the sheets: the blocks around the "Sportivnaya" metro station, the Petrograd side, the streets near her home and studio, places where the dental clinic, children's library, and favorite bus stops are located. For some, these corners will be a discovery, for others - a flash of recognition and a reason to mentally continue the line of the frame beyond the sheet. Initially, the artist worked with colored pencils, but over time the previous tool was no longer sufficient. She wanted a larger format, dense color, and tangible texture. Thus, oil pastel entered her life - a material that allows for both soft drawing and leaving a confident mark. In the exhibition, one can observe how layer by layer the walls of buildings, shadows from streetlights, reflections in windows are born, how the state of the streets changes at different times of the day and in different seasons. An important part of the project is the author's relationship with the environment in which she lives. Olesya says that she does not divide neighborhoods into interesting and boring and does not tire of finding new points of attraction even in places she visits every day. Everything that surrounds her becomes part of her inner world, so indifference to what is seen simply does not happen. This is evident in how the spot of light is structured, how the turn of the street is emphasized, how carefully the details are outlined that usually slip past the gaze of a hurried passerby.
