The exhibition features over 70 works by the young artist from St. Petersburg, Mikhail Kalyuta. Visitors to the Moscow Museum of Modern Art will be presented with paintings and pastel works by the Petersburg artist Mikhail Kalyuta, created between 2019 and 2026. Mikhail creatively developed and grew in the studio of his father, the renowned artist Yuri Kalyuta. Mikhail's talent emerged unexpectedly; he began to paint freely and naturally, like an established master. His style is close to the avant-gardists, yet it does not reject academic heritage. The exhibition showcases portraits of Mikhail Kalyuta's close circle, as well as a series of self-portraits-a kind of diary of moods and states. Many canvases capture the interiors of the studio. His studio is presented as a living creative space filled with people and objects. In Mikhail's still lifes, like in theatrical scenes, objects acquire their own character. The artist's work represents a pure, almost childlike view of the world. The artist sees life in all its fullness and shares this sunny feeling with the viewers.
