About

The project invites you to view photography as a way to feel the passage of time. The focus is on the works of Valery Nezymaev, where light, long exposure, and attentive contemplation transform familiar images into an almost metaphysical experience. At the heart of the exhibition is an attempt to restore a sense of mystery to photography. Valery Nezymaev consciously moves away from direct documentary and familiar "instantaneity," slowing down the image through long exposure. As a result, a person, object, or landscape is captured not in a brief fragment of time, but in its natural flow. The works combine mechanical and digital techniques, and special studio lighting allows for framing that preserves the feeling of a living process. Nezymaev has worked with magazines and television, was a photojournalist, and engaged in lighting design for museum and gallery projects. He then focused on his own artistic language. We share ideas on KUDAGO about where to go in St. Petersburg this weekend.
