A large-scale exhibition introduces viewers to one of the brightest periods of Marc Chagall's creativity - the time when his famous Vitebsk images, flying lovers, and tender family scenes were born. The project allows visitors to see familiar canvases from a new angle and hear the voice of the artist himself. The exhibition brings together works from the "Russian period" - the years when Chagall created his unique poetic world, absorbing the atmosphere of Vitebsk and the experiences of his youth. The paintings and graphics are accompanied by quotes from his book "My Life," so each plot unfolds as a personal story: whether it's a walk above the city, a family tea party, or a memory of first loves. Visitors will see both everyday scenes and more symbolic works from the early 1920s, where reality is intricately intertwined with dreams. A special place is occupied by the reconstruction of the space of the Jewish Chamber Theater with the legendary panels created by the artist in 1920. The atmosphere of Chagall's Vitebsk home is conveyed through an installation with authentic interior items. The project is complemented by rare drawings from the war years, illustrations for fairy tales and books, as well as graphics for "Dead Souls," created after his departure from Russia.
