The exhibition introduces the theatrical culture of Eastern countries through costumes, masks, dolls, and stage objects. The project showcases theater as an important source of knowledge about the traditions, aesthetics, and history of the region. The exhibition is dedicated to the theatrical traditions of the Far East and Southeast Asia and brings together about 300 items that reveal the centuries-old history of the region's performing arts. The focus is on theater as a bearer of cultural memory - from ritual practices to spectacular folk forms. Among the presented objects are stage costumes, masks, dolls, and props related to the leading theatrical genres of the East. The project examines the origins and development of theatrical forms, their connection to literature, music, and folklore, as well as the processes of cultural interaction between countries. The exhibition includes items that demonstrate the diversity of artistic languages from China, Japan, Korea, Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. These are elements of stage design, musical instruments, characters from puppet and shadow theater, graphics, painting, small sculptures, and decorative-applied works with theatrical motifs.
