When was the last time you thought about how many people are behind one beloved book? This exhibition shows the entire publishing journey - from the first stroke to the finished volume that you want to hold gently in your hands. The exhibition reveals the book as a complete world, where the idea is inseparable from the material shell. The audience is shown the publishing path step by step: from printing and typesetting workshops to engraving, binding, and marbling, and then moves on to modern projects created on the same principles. In one space, rare examples from the past coexist with specialized equipment and new works by artists and publishers for whom the book trade remains a personal passion. Separate sections resemble workshops gathered under one roof. Here you can see how an image is born on an engraving plate, what distinguishes types of paper and binding, how hand-crafted editions are closer to works of art than to ordinary shelf products. It shows how books continue to live - in private libraries, reading rooms, and family archives, becoming part of their owners' biographies. Special attention is given to the people who revive old techniques and reinterpret them in the present. Artists, restorers, and publishers work with traditional materials while simultaneously seeking new visual solutions. Thanks to their efforts, the book becomes an object in which craft, art, and the memory of those who once held it intertwine. The exhibition takes place at the KVK "Botanical Greenhouses."
