The exhibition explores the futurist book as a form of artistic expression and an experimental laboratory of new art. The presented publications demonstrate how the radical searches of the early 20th century influenced the visual culture of the following decades. The exhibition is dedicated to the Russian futurist book as a unique artistic phenomenon that emerged at the intersection of poetry and visual art. The project is timed to the anniversary of Velimir Khlebnikov and considers the book as a space for bold experimentation, where word, image, form, and material create a unified whole. Key publications of futurists-poets and artists who worked in close creative collaboration-are presented. In focus are books created in the early decades of the 20th century that consciously violated the notions of typographic norm. These publications reflected the programmatic stance of futurism on breaking with tradition and searching for a new language of art. The exhibition builds a chronology of the development of the futurist book and shows its influence on the further evolution of visual culture-from graphic design to contemporary art.
